\ntogether. The two-night concert included an out of the world flute concerto by
\nRebecca Yu and the symphony orchestra, a fun rendition of \u201cBlackbird\u201d by the
\nwonderful teacher ensemble, a fantastically rhythmic piece by the junior band,
\nan interesting contemporary piece by the senior strings, an emotional \u201cWe Rise
\nAgain\u201d by the choir, and many more! Not only that, but many audience members
\nwere also blown away by the talented soloists of Maytime. On commenting on
\nEmily D\u2019Angelo\u2019s vocal solo, Laura Murphy says, \u201cit was nice to see her do something
\ndifferent. She is just as spectacular at Mozart as she is Christina Aguilera!\u201d
\nFor myself, a Maytime performer since grade nine, this year\u2019s Maytime Melodies
\nwas definitely the most memorable. Not only was I impressed with the quality
\nand talent of my fellow music students, but it finally hit me during Alaiza\u2019s
\ntearful remarks, how much hard work goes into putting out something so
\nspectacular and amazing for others to enjoy. I think I can speak on behalf of
\nall the music students about how grateful we are to our music teachers for
\nhelping and allowing us to put together something so important to us all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
