Spring 2012 Runway Trends

Spring 2012 is a promising season of pretty and posh style.  Extraordinary designers presented beautiful runway shows, and everyone from Michael Kors to Chanel was debuting hot, new trends you don’t want to leave the house without emulating. From
florals and flappers to pastels and prints, Spring 2012 is bound to be one of
the most sumptuously elegant seasons to date!

Springtime is synonymous with flowers, so it was no surprise to see flower clad models strutting down Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana’s runways. Pretty dresses adorned in flowery appliqué were big! These fancy, frosted flowers are feminine and girly. Looking to blossom out in floral prints at school? Go for a floral bustier top, skinny jeans and statement rosette ring!

Drop waisted skirts, flapper fringes and feathers were big on
the runways from Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Marc Jacobs. The trend is no shocker
with the remake of The Great Gatsby coming out in December. I’m thinking 1920s fashion is going to be big until Christmas! Sequins and stripes mingle with frosted pinks and the results are utter perfection. It was Ralph Lauren in particular who nailed down the luxurious essence of the ’20s with sequin-clad dresses, feathery fringes and an overall Art Deco vibe. The Gatsby trend is big, bold and beautiful for Spring!

Versace and Chanel dove under the sea for their Spring 2012
collections and the results were stunning! Aqua blue, pearl encrusted clutches,
flowing dresses and shimmering gowns prove that watery beginnings are where
style for Spring is at. The sea shore theme embodies femininity, fantasy and a
mythological vibe. Emulate the look with something as simple as a pearl necklace, or something as dramatic as a sequin and seashell encrusted evening gown. There is something incredibly alluring about the mermaid trend, and there is something about it that is impossible not to love.

It’s a safari! Daring tribal prints and patterns roared down
the runways from Burberry, Michael Kors and Donna Karan. Sporty swimsuits,
lightweight leopard-printed tunics and fitted utilitarian jackets are fierce
for Spring. We love the way this out of Africa vibe is chic and
fashion-forward. From tunics to dresses and everything in between, this hot
trend promises to keep you cool. This hip, urban take on safari style is
undeniably edgy. The bold use of earthy hues, geometric patterns and
animalistic stylishness equals a look that is totally tribal.
